Undergraduate Research Guide: Globalization

Scope

This Research Guide focuses on globalization, the controversial process by which the world is becoming more economically, politically, and socially integrated. The guide should provide researchers with a starting point for investigating such topics as free trade vs. fair trade, globalization and human rights (for example, child labor), economic liberalization, the globalization of politics, globalization and poverty, the globalization of communications and media, and the effects of globalization on the environment.

Overview

International Ethics: A Reference Handbook

A reference source devoted to ethical problems of global concern. The book includes a chronology of events in international ethics, biographical sketches of prominent figures in ethics, brief discussions of major issues, and a list of other resources.

Global NewsBank covers issues and events in Africa, Asia, Europe, the former Soviet Union, Pacific Rim, Central and South America and the Middle East. It is ideal for researching a wide variety of international developments related to politics, economics, science and business. Lexis/Nexis Academic Universe Dates Vary (updated daily)

ProQuest Research Library 1988 - to date (updated daily)

Public Affairs Information Service (PAIS) 1972 - to date (updated quarterly)
Indexes journal articles, books, government documents, statistical compilations, committee reports, directories, serials, reports of public, intergovernmental and private organizations, and most other forms of printed literature from all over the world.
