Usage
This is a regulated facility. By entering, you agree to abide by the rules of the University, College Library, and the campus InfoLab program.
Use of this facility and equipment is limited to students, faculty and staff of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Users should have their UW identification at all times and may be required to show UW identification at any time.
Users are required to show a valid UW ID in order to check out materials.
Library management reserves the right to determine appropriate use of facility and equipment.
Users viewing material offensive to others may be asked to move or leave.
Be sure that all software you install or materials you download are appropriate and legal.
Limit use to one workstation at a time.
Do not modify system or setup files on the computers.
No "squatting". Twenty minutes workstation idle time is the maximum. Library staff may take personal materials left at a workstation if others need to use it.
Assigned work for academic courses has priority over personal computing (personal email, chat, internet surfing, etc.)
All users must leave at closing time.
Software Copying
Copying of lab-installed software is prohibited (and in most cases, illegal).
Noise
Disruptive persons may be ejected by Library staff or Campus Security.
A library atmosphere, please. No pets, radios, roller blades, etc.
Show respect for those around you by keeping noise to an acceptable level.
Although there is no specific rule against cell phone use, There are rules against disturbing other library patrons. We suggest you make and take calls in the stairwells.
