Testing and Education Reference Center -- summarizes undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs in the United States and Canada. The database includes full-text test preparation guides such as GRE, LSAT, and TOEFL. Free registration is required for the "Scholarship Search" and "Grad Schools Want You" features.
Campus Resources
Undergraduate Advising Toolkit -- Campus Advising Services -- contains links to UW-Madison sites such as the Registar's Office and the Transfer Information System.
Cross-College Advising Service -- 10 Ingraham Hall --provides career and school advising and links to academic services.
Help On-line -- University of Wisconsin System -- includes links to UW campus homepages, transfer information, and information on applying for financial aid.
Writer's Handbook -- Writing Center -- the section on "Writing Application Essays and Personal Statements for Graduate and Professional Schools" has guidelines and activities to create application essays.
Internet Sites
Educational Testing Service Network -- information about college and graduate school admission tests, with links to AP, GRE, GMAT, SAT, and TOEFL sites. It also gives sample text questions, test preparation advice and test registration information.
US News.com Graduate School-- "GUIDES" section has information on admission tests and transition into grad school.
Princeton Review -- information on admissions tests such as the GRE, LSAT, GMAT, and MCAT. The site also offers free online test preparation (registration is required).
Standards for Success -- "This document is designed to answer one question: What must students know and be able to do in order to succeed in entry-level university courses?" The Association of American Universities' (AAU) Standards for Success is administered by the Center for Educational Policy Research (CEPR) at the University of Oregon in Eugene.
CollegeNET -- searchable database of colleges and universities with the ablity to apply online for under graduate and graduate schools.
Peterson's Colleges, Career Information & Test Prep -- a number of services including a database of information on graduate programs. Also provides links to free and fee-based on-line practice tests for entrance exams. Many services require registration.
Test Prep Review -- Provides links to several on-line practice tests.
